Established on October 11, 1957, followed by several years of development, the park was officially opened in 1959.

Incidentally, Pinery PP is one of the few that offer sheltered accommodations in the winter. The Camp Cabin has a more traditional looking, rustic wood cabin available for rent. Inside the cabin is a queen size bed and double/single bunk bed therefore, sleeps 5 comfortably.
